McKinley Volunteer Opportunities - 2025-26

The PTA Volunteer Program is one of the best ways that parents can support the students and staff at our school.

Please review the brief descriptions of each volunteer area and indicate your preliminary interests. Your contact information will then be forwarded to the PTA board member or committee chair that is pulling together that activity and they will be in touch with you.

General Volunteer Opportunities
Reflections Art Show and Competition
Facilitate the PTA-sponsored, annual art project.
Book Fair
Help organize and set up the spring book fair. One to two hour shifts are available.
Harvest Festival
Be a part of the planning and/or volunteer to help at this October event.
Haunted House
Join the team that builds our haunted house
Hospitality Team
Assist with baking and/or set-up for various PTA events and teacher appreciation celebrations throughout the school year.
Library Volunteer
Assist in the school library and with literary events throughout the year
Partnerships
Develop business partnerships in our community that will support our PTA through donations.
Spirit Wear
Help with sales and marketing.
Welcome Back Picnic
Volunteer at our back-to-school picnic in September
Talent Show
Got talent? Help lead our students in the annual talent show.
Jog-a-thon
March 8, 2025. Help make McKinley's biggest fundraiser a success!
International Day
This community event shows off our school’s unique diversity. Join the planning committee
Bike-It Walk-It Days
Help McKinley succeed in having the highest participation district-wide! Join the planning committee or help at the event
Literacy Night
School Beautification and Sustainability
This committee manages the school’s green initiatives and works to maintain the plants and trees around the school
Class BBQ's
Help plan the end-of-year classroom BBQ!
Staff Appreciation Week (5/5-5/9/2025)
Planning starts after spring break. The committee needs 1-2 co-chairs and several parents to work with local businesses to cater a special meal each day (breakfast or lunch). We need a committee of 4 to 5 people to plan (inc 1-2 co-chairs), and will circulate a sign-up genius to find parents to help setup, cleanup, and pickup food orders.
