PTA recognized with Membership March Gold Award for doubling membership!

 We recently learned that the California State PTA has recognized McKinley with its Membership March Gold Award for an increase of 67-100% over our 2023-24 total. The McKinley PTA will conclude this school year with over 225 members. Thank you to each and every member of our PTA - because of you, our PTA and school community is thriving. We were the ONLY school in Santa Monica to achieve this feat this year.

Looking Ahead at Next Year - Open Roles on PTA Exec Board

Looking ahead to next year, we still have one more role on our Executive Board to fill:

1st VP of Literacy and Education! This position will lead the Reflections Art Program, a PTA initiative for an annual visual and performing arts contest. Winners are selected at the school, district, state and national level! Our 1st VP of Lit and Ed also gets involved in advocacy and legislative issues, so if you are an artsy / policy wonky person (or aspire to be one), we want to meet you! 

Jog-A-Thon Committee Chair - This is an appointed position (not on exec board) for a cherished annual tradition that promotes fitness while also raising money for our PTA. If you've had any experience planning a wedding or big party, you can definitely tackle this! Historically handled by two people, but one person skilled in project management, event production and some volunteer management can handle this too.

Join Us in the 4th of July Parade!

We’re inviting families from our school community to take part in the 18th Annual Santa Monica 4th of July Parade— happening this Friday, July 4. Each year, SMMUSD, the Ed Foundation, and PTAs from across the city walk together to represent our schools. This year, we’ll be joined by participants from Pacific Palisades, so the parade will be even bigger than usual.
